You may have noticed that lately I’ve been posting various recommended tools and resources for success. I have decided to turn these posts into a regular series called Klu’s Briefs. Whenever you see “Klu’s Briefs” in the title of a post with this tag, you will know that I am sharing my personal recommendations for things that I feel add value to my life and business in some way.
Why Klu’s Briefs? As a Coach and Professor, I am always working with others to teach them tips and tricks on how to improve, grow and succeed. I noticed myself constantly recommending different books, blogs, apps, and other tools to individuals, so figured, why not have my recommendations help even more people? With the power of my blog and social media,?I’m now?able to do this.
I am very grateful that there are so many resources right at our finger tips that we can access. So far I already have Klu’s Briefs posts on my favorite books, blogs, apps and tech tools! You can catch all of my Klu’s Briefs Posts HERE. I may do more recommendations on topics I have already posted about as I continue to discover more, but will also share on new topics. I’m already thinking about more favorites in my mind. I have favorite movies, shows, music, the list is never ending so I look forward to sharing more.
Remember, all of the current Klu’s Briefs Post can be seen, HERE. If you have suggestions for what you want me to share in the next edition of Klu’s Briefs, please feel free to leave me a comment.
Today is my birthday! Although this is a special day, lately I have really been feeling like every day is special. I am a blessed man with a thriving coaching business, hundreds of students in my classes, beautiful wife and 3 healthy kids. I have also been connecting with friends and rebuilding relationships. Just a couple weeks ago, I was able to accomplish a goal but attending spring training with my oldest son AJ. Two nights ago I had an early birthday celebration at the Staples Center. I attended one of Kobe’s last Lakers games…and I went to the Padres Home Opener against the Dodgers on Monday with AJ and his buddies. Sports events with family and friends is a PERFECT way for me to celebrate!

Most of you already know that I am fearless when it comes to wearing many hats. I’m a coach, business owner, professor and even author. Yes that’s right, I’m an author! I have authored several publications including my E-Book: The 5th Step to Fearless Public Speaking. Today I want to offer you a free copy of my book. I will teach you how to conquer your fear of public speaking in?3-28 Days! I just updated the page on my website that promotes this book, so figured it was the perfect opportunity to re-introduce it on my blog too.
Have you ever wished that you were fearless when it came to Public Speaking? Do you wish?you could just BE YOURSELF when speaking in public? How much further would you?be in your career or the growth of your business if you were NOT afraid of Public?Speaking?
The 5th Step is an E-book with Worksheet Templates that will replace fear with a speech preparation outline and instructions that build the Confidence to ?Be Yourself? when Speaking in Public!
Watch my video below for even more reasons on why you will find my E-Book valuable.
To share some personal inspiration, public speaking is one of the top ways for me to build trust and credibility that I know will ultimately lead to new clients. After my last public speaking engagement, nearly 10% of the audience hired me afterwards…and 100% who did both of my comp sessions ended up enrolling. ?Have YOU gotten two comp sessions from me yet? ?I digress…the point here is?that if you start speaking, you will have positive results over time too. If you decide to download my free E-book, please let me know your thoughts and thank you in advance for reading!
Apps are awesome, let’s face it! ?Lately, I’ve been sharing?my favorite tools and resources with you and I’ve been enjoying that so much that I have decided to create a new blog series called “Klu’s Briefs” where I will continue to share my tools for success and welcome your input on new resources I should check out too. ?Today’s blog focuses on smartphone apps.
Again, let’s face it, our “devices” are?glued to our hands all day and night. ?In today’s day and age, your smartphone or tablet can do virtually anything. ?I view my smartphone as a digital swiss army knife that can help me succeed in so many ways. Here are some apps that are absolutely essential for me as a business owner and coach:
Zoom- The Zoom app keeps me connected! I usually use Zoom?on the computer, but when I’m on the go and don’t have my laptop, Zoom?makes it possible to still have?video conference calls clients, ?record sessions and review previous meetings. Zoom is my go-to tool for conferencing both in the office and on the go.
Dropbox-?As someone who is always working on the go whether it’s at a client’s location, the class I’m teaching in, or during meetings like at my Power Breakfast, Dropbox is a lifesaver. I don’t have to worry about saving documents, transferring documents or how I will access documents because I can access everything in one place. This is another tool that I can access on the computer, but having the app makes a big difference since I don’t always have my computer.
PayPal– The PayPal app allows me to make and accept payments on the spot with my phone. No more needing to wait for checks to arrive in the mail wonder if a payment was sent. ?I really love being prompt with my payments…people always appreciated not having to track you down for money you ow them. ?Because my PayPal account is linked to my business, I find it more reliable for auto-payments than my traditional bank debit or credit cards that seemed to get replaced “for security purposes” all to frequently. ?PayPal is stable, consistent and certainly “mobile!”
LinkedIn- Having the LinkedIn app on my phone allows me to connect with people immediately. If I’m at a conference watching a panel of people speak, I can immediately look up each person on LinkedIn to have a better understand of their background and experience beyond their short bio in the program. I can also connect with a new contact immediately rather than risk having their business card get added to a pile of others. If we’re connected on LinkedIn, you may notice that I post consistently. Having the app allows me to keep up with my posts, reply to comments and messages much more efficiently than when I was only logging in maybe once a week at the most on my computer. By the way, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn
What are some critical apps on your smartphone? One of the benefits of sharing my top picks for things is that I get to learn about your favorite tools too. Let me know in the comments if there are any apps you?recommend and why.
Klu’s Briefs is a series?where I share my recommended tools for success in coaching, business and life. I welcome your input on new resources?you recommend that I?check out too. I view this as an opportunity for everyone to?learn and collaborate.??
Remember all that goal setting insight I gave?earlier this year? Well just because we’re closing out the first quarter doesn’t mean all the talk about goal setting is going to stop. In fact, it’s just beginning. Yes, that’s right, accomplishing the many goals we set at the start of the year is starting to happen. Achieving goals?is one of my favorite things about goal setting. For me, goal setting encompasses all areas of my life. I set goals for business, health, relationships, and I even set bucket list goals.
These past 4 days, ?have been dedicated to my bucket list goal of taking a road trip to Spring Training with my son AJ. AJ is my Little League all star, so I knew he would enjoy Spring Training just as much as me. This trip felt like Father’s Day the entire time. It will be an experience I’ll remember forever and as a bonus, I was able to achieve one of my bucket list goals. Just a glimpse of our Spring Training Adventure…
AJ hit a grand slam with all the autographs he got, including this one from World Champion Center Fielder Willie Wilson. AJ himself plays Center Field so it was a treat for him to meet guys doing what he does in the big leagues.
We had the opportunity to watch 4 spring training games and got up close and personal views of our favorite players in action!
Oh and look who I got to fist bump with? None other than Hall of Famer Trevor Hoffman. This was truly an honor.
I recommend everyone have at least one bucket list goal because it gives you something to look forward to and it helps you realize that setting and accomplishing goals can be both fun and enjoyable. My other baseball related bucket list goals for the year include: ?Managing a Little League team to the Tournament of Champions and Attending a Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
If you haven’t already set bucket list goals this year, no fear! It’s never too late to set a goal. I encourage you to set a bucket list goal and then share it with me. If you already have bucket list goals, I would love to hear them too. Let me know in the comments and if you’re stuck on how to set bucket list goals, or any of your goals for that matter, you can always sign up for my complimentary coaching so we can get your goals in order.
